Woman in 80s injured as crash blocks main Teignmouth road – live updates

A woman in her 80s has suffered a suspected neck injury in a three-vehicle crash on the main Dawlish Road out of Teignmouth.

Ambulance crews are treating the woman at the scene and police report one lane of the narrow road is blocked – causing heavy traffic in and out of the seaside town.

A police spokesman has confirmed that one lane remains blocked: “We were called at about 3.40pm outside number 61 Dawlish Road, Teignmouth.

“There are three vehicles involved and one lane is blocked. Ambulance and police are on scene at the moment.

“It is looking initially as though a woman in her 80s may have suffered a neck injury and remains in a car – although she is not trapped, they are treating her at the scene.”

Traffic information service Inrix said: “A379 Dawlish Road partially blocked, heavy traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved around Cliffden Hotel. Affecting traffic heading in and out  Teignmouth.”
