Water supplies have been cut off all day in the busy holiday village of Shaldon after a burst water at 5am.

At lunchtime on Thursday South West Water was unable to tell villagers when water would be restored.

People reporting they had no water included Cafe ODE, The Ness, Coast View, Dunmore, Broadlands, Commons Lane and Platway Lane.

The village centre was unaffected around The London Inn and The Clifford – but on the hill above the river many people were contacting SWW asking when power would be restored.

South West Water has been contacted for a comment.
